In view of the above background, the objective of the assignment is to recruit experts who will contribute to this assessment, namely the Landscape Study, undertaken in Portugal.
The Study will serve as an important factual and analytical basis for developing a comprehensive understanding of the status of the Portuguese Craft GIs and collective/certification marks ecosystem and increasing awareness among public and private stakeholders regarding the craft industry's multifaceted impact.
The above-mentioned pilot Project will include:
- The preparation of a Landscape Study of the crafts sector ecosystem with a focus on how to harness the economic and social potential of GIs and collective/certification marks to add value to this sector.
- The Study should include an assessment of relevant craft sub-sectors where GIs and collective/certification marks protection are used and identified as IP tools to strengthen the sector.
- The Provider, known as IPPS-Iscte, will prepare a clear research methodology which would serve as a basis and reference for replicating the study in additional countries within the European Union and other regions.
